Why are partial form fill leads not being pushed to HubSpot or Slack?

Last updated: July 30, 2026

Context

When a user partially fills out a survey form and drops off without submitting, the expectation is that this partial lead is captured and sent to both HubSpot and Slack via a configured workflow. If no actions are set up on the User Dropped Off path of the workflow, these partial leads will not be forwarded to either destination.

Answer

If partial form fill leads are not being pushed to HubSpot or Slack, the most likely cause is that the Dropped Off path in the survey form workflow has no actions configured.

To resolve this, the following actions need to be added to the Dropped Off path:

  1. Add a Slack action and configure it via the sidebar.

  2. Add a HubSpot action and configure it via the sidebar.

Once both actions are configured on the Dropped Off path, partial leads will be correctly sent to HubSpot and Slack as expected.

Additionally, note that if partial leads are appearing in HubSpot from invalid or unexpected email domains, this may indicate an issue with email validation logic in the workflow. If you notice such cases, review the email validation step in your workflow configuration to ensure it is filtering correctly.
