Can I create a deal in HubSpot natively using Surface?
Last updated: July 30, 2026
Context
Some users rely on third-party tools like Zapier to create deals in HubSpot after a form submission. This can lead to issues such as duplicate deals and unreliable execution. Surface offers a native way to handle HubSpot deal creation directly within the workflow builder.
Answer
Yes! Surface natively supports creating deals in HubSpot through the HubSpot node in the workflow builder. You do not need a third-party tool like Zapier for this.
To set it up:
Open your workflow in the Surface workflow builder.
Add a HubSpot node to your workflow.
Select Create Deal from the available HubSpot actions.

In addition to basic deal creation, Surface also supports more advanced deal routing logic, such as:
Checking whether a company already exists in HubSpot before creating a deal.
Checking if an open deal already exists for a company, and skipping deal creation if one is found.
Creating a new deal if no open deal exists, or if the existing deal is marked as "closed, not won."
Automatically assigning the appropriate account executive to the new deal based on your routing rules.
This advanced routing logic is available on the Growth tier and is configured using Surface's natural language workflow node, making it easy to set up without complex decision trees.
